Local Superintendents Learn New Techniques in Academy
MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Some local school superintendents are going back to school.
It’s all part of a new statewide program called ” Superintendent Academy”.
The academy consists of 6 weekend long session where superintendents from across the state meet up to share ideas, and learn new ways of doing things.
Monroe County’s Superintendent Scott Cantrell says it’s a great way for the district to learn alternative methods to help students succeed.
” For all of us to see the way we do things in our district, is just a way, it’s not the way. And there’s always room for improvement, and ways to look at things from a different light, different point of view,” says Cantrell.
The legislature and the Mississippi Department of Education funds the program.
This is the second year for the academy.
