MHP Investigating Two Vehicle Accident

OKTIBBEHA CO., Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – MHP responded to a two vehicle accident on US 82 in Oktibbeha County around 12:50 P.M., Monday afternoon at the intersection of County Lake Road.

A bronze 1995 GMC pickup entered the crossover of US 82 and County Lake Road traveling north.

A Purple 2002 Peterbilt pulling an empty log trailer was traveling west on US 82.

The GMC entered the westbound lane of traffic at which time the Peterbilt collided into the right front of the GMC, causing the GMC to spin and then collide into the empty log trailer, the GMC then left the highway to the left and traveled into the median.

The Peterbilt jackknifed and traveled off the north shoulder of US 82 before coming to rest.

The driver of the Peterbilt, 43 year old Anthony W. Fulgham of Mathiston was uninjured in the collision.

The driver of the GMC, 53 year old Marvin J. Wordlaw of Starkville was transported to OCH for further medical treatment.

Mr. Wordlaw sustained moderate, non-life threating injuries during the collision.

The accident remains under investigation by MHP.
