MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A federal agency will help pay for damage to three sites in Monroe County.

Flood waters swamped a number of places in the county around Christmas.

Now, the Natural Resources Conservation Service will pay for 75% of the $105,000 bill for the repairs.

Monroe County Administrator Sonny Clay says the money will repair and improve the sites.

The county’s emergency application was recently approved. It became official at Friday morning’s board of supervisors meeting.

NRCS is a division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
