Monroe Deputy Arrested After Fight At Pee-Wee Football Game

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Monroe County deputy is charged after a fight at a pee-wee football game.

Houston Police Chief Billy Voyles says two coaches were arrested this past weekend but declined to release any names in the investigation.

Voyles says officers were called to the football field three times Saturday before any arrests were made.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says the deputy was suspended. He will wait until the deputy makes a court appearance to decide if more disciplinary action is needed.

The two people arrested are charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault.

WCBI decided not release the deputy’s name until the other person arrested has been identified.
