Video: Moore, OK. Hospital CEO Presents $48,000 to WMC Employees
LOUISVILLE, Miss. – (WCBI) In May of 2013, Moore, Oklahoma was nearly wiped off the map by an EF5 tornado. Their hospital, Norman Regional Medical Center was destroyed.
When the April 28th storms put the city of Louisville in a similar position, the staff at the Oklahoma hospital decided they wanted to help. Wednesday, the two center for care united in recovery.
Paul Whitaker, CEO of Norman Regional, flew into Louisville to present staff members of Winston Medical Center a check for $48,000.
The money will go to employees whose homes, properties and jobs took a direct hit as a result of the storm.
Whitaker says this is one way to give back.
“This is our chance. This is where we pay it back, pay it forward for the all the support that was sent our way. This is who we are going to go help. We are going to try and spread the love and support like we received,” says Whitaker
Ground was broken last week on a new Norman Regional Medical center.
