New Albany Girl, 7, Dies In Apparent Drowning

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) – The drowning of a seven year-old New Albany girl remains under investigation.

Police Chief Chris Robertson says Ma-Taya Biggs was found in a neighbor’s pool on Sycamore Street about 8 P.M. Saturday.

Her parents had reported her missing.

While officers were talking to them, the little girl was found in the pool by a neighbor.

An autopsy will be performed, but Robertson says the drowning appears to be accidental.
