UNDATED, Miss. (WCBI)-The Mississippi Department of Health has confirmed three new cases of the West Nile Virus. The virus was confirmed in Lamar, Leflore, and Marion counties. So far this year 12 case and two deaths have been confirmed by the health department. Symptoms for west nile are similar to the flu and can include achy muscles, nausea, vomiting, and fever. Protect yourself against the mosquito borne illness by wearing proper bug repellent, long sleeves and pants during peak hours, and removing standing water from your yard.
