Video: North Miss. City Shows Appreciation for Employees

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The city of Starkville wants to show its employees they’re appreciated.

That’s why it held an appreciation day for them Thursday afternoon.

City leaders spoke, while workers took advantage of a special luncheon.

Every employee will also receive a certificate of appreciation.

“We decided to show our employees that they are appreciated, and that they are valued,” said Stephanie Halbert, interim human resources director. “We have some very hard working employees, and we definitely want to show them how much we appreciate them.”

Employees will also have Friday off.

Halbert says they want to make this an annual event.
