Video: Noxubee County Suspetcs Bound Over To Grand Jury

MACON, Miss. (WCBI)- The four people charged with capital murder in the deadly shooting of a gas station worker in Macon made a court appearance Tuesday.

Brothers 17-year old Joshua and 19 year old Justin Williams, along with 19 year old Elizabeth Reed and 24 year old Jonathan Shumaker were brought to the preliminary hearing in Noxubee County.

Lawyers for two of the suspects had questions about how and where a shotgun was recovered that may have been used in the shooting.

Police haven’t released much information about the case.

28 year-old Kris Haywood was working the night he was shot on March second.

Investigators say the four charged in the homicide knew Haywood.

Now, a grand jury will decide if a criminal trial will go forward.

“They’ve been bound over. They’re still under no bond. There was discussion of a bond hearing but their still in for no bond. All of them are charged with capital murder. All of them as adults,” Macon Police Department Chief Lucious Mason said.

The four are being held in separate jails.
