OKTIBBEHA CO., Miss. (WCBI) — Volunteer fire fighters in Oktibbeha County rescued the occupants of a truck, stranded in a creek full of water.

It was just before midnight Thursday when East Oktibbeha Fire and Rescue personnel were called to St Andrews Lane, near the main gate of the Highlands.

The driver of the brand new Ford F-150 apparently left the road, driving through a ditch and into a creek.

There were no injuries. But rescue workers assisted the occupants of the truck to safety.

Sgt Grant Tollison with East Oktibbeha Fire Rescue says that once the vehicle’s occupants were helped out of the creek, personnel remained on scene to assist in vehicle recovery efforts.

In addition to a local wrecker service a rotator-wrecker from Columbus was also employed to lift the vehicle back up to the roadway.
