STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Longtime Oktibbeha County Emergency Management Agency Director Jim Britt will soon retire.

Britt has served in the role for nearly 15 years. He’s been in public service and safety since 1971.

Britt tells WCBI he has worked with a supportive board of supervisors for many years, along with the city of Starkville and MSU.

Britt says he can draw more money being retired than working, and EMA and 911 are prepared for the future.

He plans to relax some but still serve the community any way possible.

Britt’s last official day on the job is June 30th.
