Oxford Police Bust Vending Machine Thief

OXFORD, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) -Oxford police make an arrest in a rash of vending machine thefts.

On April 27th, detectives were contacted by Coca-Cola about theftsEvans, Jimmy from some of their vending machines in the Oxford area, which spanned from September of 2015 to April 2016.

The amount taken from those machines totaled up to $19, 224 dollars.

With photos of the suspect, a positive ID was made and a warrant issued for the arrest of 67-year-old Jimmy Evans of Potts Camp, Mississippi.

Evans had recently retired from Coca-Cola and was using his employee key to unlock the machines and take the money inside.

Evans turned himself in May 4th and was taken before Judge Bell for his initial appearance.

His bond was set at $2,500 dollars.
