Oxford Police Make Felony Arrests, Prove Crime Doesn’t Pay

OXFORD, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – On Saturday, April 16, the Bryant, KiloOxford Police Department served Kilo Bryant, 20, of Oxford, an outstanding warrant for burglary at the Lafayette County Detention Center.

On January 9th, Officers were dispatched to Mclarty Road for a burglary that had already occurred.

Several power tools were taken from the residence and were found to be pawned at a local pawn shop by Bryant.

The items were recovered and returned to the victim.

Bryant was given a bond of $5,000.

 

On Monday, April 18 2016 at 9:00AM police wereDaniel Alexander Jones[1] dispatched to Wal-Mart in reference to a black male stealing electronics.

Upon arrival officers were able to locate the suspect, Daniel Alexander Jones, 21, of Tupelo, and he was subsequently arrested for felony shoplifting.

The total amount was $1260.97.

His bond was set at $2,500.00

 

On April 15th officers of the Oxford Police Department took a reportHernandez, Kevin Eduardo Garcia of a stolen vehicle that had just occurred.

Through an investigation, it was found that the suspect was a Hispanic male.

Shortly, the vehicle was located and the suspect, Kevin Eduardo Garcia-Hernandez was taken into custody.

Hernandez was charged with Motor Vehicle Theft and taken before Judge Mickey Avent for his Initial Appearance.

His bond was set at $2,500.00.

 

On April 17th officers of the Oxford Police Department conducted a Adams, Davidtraffic stop on Pegues Road.

While speaking to the driver and passenger, officers found that the passenger had a firearm inside his waistband.

Upon checking the passengers criminal history officers found that the passenger, David Andrew Adams was a convicted felon.

Adams was arrested and charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.

Adams was taken before Judge Mickey Avent for his Initial Appearance and his bond was set at $5,000.00.
