Oxford Police Seize 28 Pounds Of Marijuana

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) — Two California residents do know Jack … but probably wish they didn’t. You see Jack is the Oxford Police Departments drug dog and he found more than 28 pounds of marijuana in the couples’ car.

30 year old Able Ruiz Junior of Porterville, California and his passenger, 36 year old Joanna Orona of Dinubay California were pulled over on a traffic violation early this morning along Highway 6. During the stop Jack the Canine alerted on several areas of the car. After getting a warrant, narcotics agents fond the 28 pounds of marijuana and a small amount of cocaine hidden throughout several compartments.

The pair now face trafficking and possession charges. Each are being held on $50,000 bond.
