Pittsboro to Hold Special Election for New Alderman

PITTSBORO, Miss. (WCBI) — The city of Pittsboro will hold a special election next month to find a new alderman.

The June 16th election comes after Les Morgan resigned at last month’s board meeting, because he’s moving.

Morgan’s replacement will serve the rest of his term, which ends in late 2017.

City officials say so far three people have picked up qualifying papers to run.

Potential candidates have until May 27 to qualify.
