STARKVILLE, MISS. (WCBI) — Starkville teens came together today to join in fellowship and learn more about the world around them. It’s part of the Controllers Generation Two 4-H Club’s annual Prayer Breakfast. Three sisters with one common goal that is to unite teens. Since the Graham sisters joined the 4-H Club, they have hosted this service project that continues to grow each year. Akeah Graham is the president of the club.

“It means a lot because it made me get more experience with other children because I don’t like being alone.”

Each year the service has different guest speakers and their goal is to deliver a certain message. Speaker Lamar Ware says he thinks his message got across to the united teens.

“Just staying focused and keeping your eye on God and not letting the social media and what the world presents itself distract you from your goals in life.”

Sponsor of the group, Rose Graham, enjoyed the message that was given to the young adults.

“It’s just, it’s different each year but I like the way they brought out social media this year because I have been really trying to say it and to hear it from someone else, I saw a great change just from looking at their faces today.”

Joining with other teens in the community helps them relate and it betters their future.

“As a youth you’re not knowledgeable of why you’re being told the things you’re being told, but definitely as an adult you respect it and you appreciate it.”

After the service, teens and their parents ate breakfast in the fellowship hall.
Club and sponsors start planning for next year’s Prayer Breakfast as soon as this one wraps up.
