COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — This week WCBI is helping brides and grooms get ready for their big day.

It’s all part of our Bridal Showcase taking place this weekend.

“Wedding is a ceremony, and the reception is a party, and don’t stress over it,” says Rex Dickerson, owner of Rex Rentals.

He has some advice to make the best day of your life a little easier.

“The first thing we ask people is how many people are going to have the reception.”

That determines how many chairs you’ll need and it may be less than you think.

” Unless it’s a sit down dinner, you don’t need the number of tables and chairs to accommodate the number of guests you invite.”
” About half the number of tables and chairs,you have guests invited,” says Dickerson.

and when it comes to rentals, Dickerson says the extra money is worth it, so that you can live in the moment.

“You got people coming in for a wedding, that you haven’t seen in forever, relatives and friends, and either the bride or the mother or everyone in the wedding parties running all over creation, picking up this, picking up that, and they don’t have any time to sit down and visit,” he says.

Dickerson says over the years wedding trends have changed and now social media is bringing a new dynamic to party planning.

” Pinterest is exploded,” says Dickerson.

Giving couples more ideas than ever, and keeping rental demand changing.

“Now we carry whiskey barrels, and we carry window panes, that you can put on the wall, lay across,” he says.

and when Pinterest isn’t enough Dickerson says bringing a friend with an eye for design can help you pull your vision together.
