COLUMBUS, MISS. (WCBI) – – Tonight is the night when Santa Claus travels the world and goes down chimneys and through doors to deliver gifts to all the believers. With a little old driver, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick. You know the familiar story, so it begs the question, how does Santa get in the house quiet as a mouse?

“I have magic, so when I arrive on the roof all I have to do is go like that and I’m in the living room. If there’s a chimney, I can go down it, but if there’s not, I just appear in the living room and I don’t set off any alarms because again it’s magic.”

The man in red seems to never set off any house alarms. Police officer, Aaron Andrew, knows that Santa’s magic helps this to not happen, but he also knows another secret.

“Santa Claus has a magical key to enter any house and once inside, because he already knows everyone’s name, he even knows the pass-code to any house that has an alarm.”

For homes that have chimneys, it’s impressive that Santa never gets a burn. A Columbus Fire Department engineer, Dale Ballard says that Old Saint Nick wears a fire proof suit and that he always knows to…

“Make sure that you know, all his fire protective gear is working, but also his his smoke detectors and everything, make sure they’re working and just to make sure that he doesn’t play with fire. When he does go down the chimney, to make sure that the chimneys out.”

Santa says that he is excited for his big night out and has a tip for little ones leaving him goodies.

“I like all cookies, but please don’t get me store bought cookies. I want homemade cookies and I’ll take any kind of cookie, it doesn’t make any difference, but please make it homemade.”

Merry Christmas Eve to everyone and as Santa would say, to all a good night.
