JACKSON, MS (WCBI) – New bills directly impacting the new Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated School district are now in the motion.
Representatives Tyrone Ellis and Rob Roberson  are pushing  bills which would require the state to pick up the estimated 30 million dollar cost of building the partnership school with Mississippi State.   That’s a sixth and seventh grade school using traditional faculty and allow the university to use cutting edge technology to train its students at the site.  Currently the potential funding plan is $10 million from the state, $10 million from the school district and $10 million from the University.    Roberson’s has another bill  which would revamp the Starkville Oktibbeha Consolidated school board..  Under the Roberson proposal a seven member board would take the place of the five member set up.  One board member would be elected this November from each of the supervisor districts  Starkville Aldermen would pick a member and the Oktibbeha Supervisors would chose the seventh member
