Starkville Model Schools

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Two Starkville Elementary Schools are being recognized as model schools by The Reach Mississippi Program.

Other schools in the region can now look at Ward Stewart and Sudduth Elementary when it comes to having an effective in house positive behavior program.

The goal is to reduce office referrals when it comes to behavior violations among students in grades K through fourth grades.

“We have four beatitudes that we stress at our school. Bee respectful, bee responsible, bee safe, bee caring,” said Jennifer Vickers, Counselor.

“It is a new approach and I do believe that it does make a positive impact on the school environment as a whole,” said Lindsey Cooper, Counselor.

A grant from the University of Southern Miss helped in beeing recognized by the Reach Mississippi Program.
