COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) A crafty theft suspect strikes at Walmart and this time laptop computers were the target. Columbus police say a man entered Walmart in Columbus at about 11 p.m. on June 10th, took a pair of bolt cutters from the hardware section and headed for computers. He first cut the lock on the computer cabinets and walked off to see if an alarm sounded. He returned moments later and pulled the chain and walked off again. He returned a third time and put two Gateway laptops in his cart and wandered through the store. He eventually put the two laptops inside a child’s pool slide box, paid for the pool slide and left the store. He may have been accompanied by a woman who acted as a lookout. Anyone with information, call Columbus police.
