TUPELO,Miss. — Across North Mississippi people have been giving their opinion on the decision.

LGBT supporters in Tupelo joined in on the national celebration, gathering on the Lee County Courthouse steps to support each other.

Will Knight with the Human Rights Campaign says the Supreme Court’s decision made a strong message.

“Love will win and it has won today,” says Knight.

He says now’s a time to be proud of what the LGBT community has accomplished.

“Obviously this is a victory for equality across the nation.”

But he says the fight is not over.

” We don’t plan to stop with this marriage decision, there’s a lot of work that still needs to be done to insure full equality for LGTB people.”

Local Minister Zola Pickett says she’s ready to marry any couple that comes her way, even though she knows it may take awhile.

“I trust that our city, our county, our state will recognize equality for all of it’s constituents and act appropriately in good time.”
