Escaped Inmate Apprehended In Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — A convicted bank robber is back behind bars, after being on the run for two days.

Lee County Sheriff Jim Johnson says law enforcement officers found 58-year-old Chris Cosner in the Commodore Motel in Tupelo around 5:30 p.m., Thursday.

The sheriff’s department issued an alert about his escape less than an hour before he was captured.

Cosner had escaped from the Monroe County jail, Tuesday.

He robbed a bank in Saltillo last year.

Cosner could face additional charges.
