LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Authorities are investigating a large theft ring that runs through three counties.

Thursday, Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell, is recovering another stolen vehicle. According to law enforcement, the suspects were stealing vehicles, then operating a “chop shop” from their home.

Three vehicles have been recovered so far, one belonging to White Oil Company in Aberdeen. Four suspects are behind bars and more arrests are expected to be made in the case.

Sheriff Cantrell says stealing will not be tolerated.

“If you’re going to steal, you’re going to get caught if you do it in Monroe County because we’re not going to have this and we’ve been real fortunate in solving the crimes that are happening in Monroe County and this is just another instance of true law enforcement through 3 counties taking care of business,” said Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell.

Sheriffs in Lee and Itawamba counties have also been working on the case.

Names of the suspects are not being released at this time.
