CALEDONIA, Miss. (WCBI) — One full-time job in the Caledonia parks department will soon be split into three part-time positions.

Aldermen pursued restructuring the city’s parks department at its regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday.

The board unanimously approved to divvy the once full-time parks director position into three part-time positions.

Aldermen hired Lisa Mims as the director of operations of Ola J. Pickett Park on a $1,000 per month salary. Doc Perkins and Jack Thomas have been hired as temporary maintenance employees. Both men will work on an as-needed basis on a $10 per hour pay rate.

Caledonia Mayor Bill Lawrence said it was a much more efficient way to get the job done.
