Video: Church Gives Away Turkeys

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – It started with a church service, then free turkeys at a Starkville church.

Peter’s Rock Temple Church held their annual Thanksgiving Day service on Tuesday.

Hundreds of community members filled the church sanctuary for the worship service and message.

At least 130 turkeys were on hand to give away after the service.

Church members say it’s a way to live out their faith.

“What Jesus’ mission is, he was giving. And so we try to be apart of the solution versus being apart of the problem. We do a lot of community events where we give back to our community and this is just one of those,” said church member, Helen Kennard.

The turkeys were donated by Peter’s Rock church members.
