GUNTOWN, Miss. (WCBI) – Guntown Police will get body cameras and other equipment, thanks to a man who wanted to show his support for law enforcement.

Henry Lynch presented a $5,900.00 check to Guntown Police Chief Michael Hall Thursday.

The money was collected at a fundraiser last month. Lynch organized the event.

He says he wanted to do something help the police department.

“Everything you see on TV, the bad rap police are getting, every body is trying to make their dime off discrediting police departments and I just got sick and tired of it, this little police department here is awesome, they have been great to everybody.”

“Everything goes together hand in hand, your law enforcement, citizens, it takes a village to raise a child, so everybody has to work together.”

Lynch hopes to make the police fundraiser an annual event.
