COLUMBUS, Miss.(WCBI)–Twenty-Two students studying and finishing up their school work this summer can now call themselves Columbus High school graduates.

The students marching in their cap and gowns did not quit, but persevered to obtain the right to be called high school graduates.

They have met the requirements established by the Mississippi Department of Education.

“I’m really excited for them. I’m glad that they persevered, that they didn’t give up. That they weren’t discouraged. And that they continued to see this day,” said Angela Verdell/CMSD Official.

“I want to transfer to ICC and get my business degree in auto body collision repair because I’m fascinated basically with cars, the paint and the fender wheels and all that,” said Jamal Robinson/CHS Graduate.

Proud parents and other relatives were on hand for the Summer graduation at Columbus High.
