Video: Columbus Man Faces Burglary and Escape Charges

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The Columbus man who led Lowndes County deputies on a wild foot chase Monday night is behind bars facing multiple charges.

Twenty-two year old Hunter Ryan Fields is charged with burglary and felony escape after evading deputies for about 2 hours.

He was arrested in connection with a burglary at Potter’s Restaurant Monday evening. While he was being taken into custody, a still handcuffed Fields made a run for it. Deputies searched the area of Alomar Road near Jess Lyons and Champion Roads. They recaptured him shortly after 9:00 Monday night.

He is being held in the Lowndes County jail.
