Video: Community Meeting About Consolidation Held in West Point

WEST POINT, Miss. – (WCBI) The West Point Consolidated School District hosted a community meeting to discuss the details of the merger.

Several parents had expressed interest in choosing which elementary school their student should attend, whether it be in the city limits or in the county.

Superintendent Burnell McDonald said that the board wanted to use community meetings to gauge interest, and talk about ways to maintain a steady population at all of the schools.

West Clay Elementary is the only elementary school in the county. Churchill, Southside and Eastside Elementary schools are all in the city.
