TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) -The Tupelo Regional Airport officially has a new carrier. The Department of Transportation has approved Tennessee- based Corporate Flight Management to take over airliner service in Tupelo.

In late November the Airport Authority board voted to accept CFM’s bid for service.

CFM will operate under the Essential Air Service program. That program helps ensure that small and rural airports have access to commercial air service.

CFM now has clearance to start flying commercial service next spring.
