Video: Fire Breaks Out at Columbus Plant

COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) The Columbus Fire Department is investigating a late Thursday afternoon plant fire. The call came in shortly after 4:30 p.m. today regarding a fire at the Valmet, Inc. industrial plant.

Fire could be seen coming from the roof of a rear building in the shipping and receiving area.

Three firetrucks initially responded to the fire, but one truck was called off with another staying nearby on standby.

Fire investigators are working to determine what caused the fire.
