Video: First Responders Meet for Training Session in Tupelo

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – First responders are taking time to learn how to better protect citizens in the areas they serve. The Mississippi Association of Public Fire Safety Educators is holding its annual conference in Tupelo.

Fire department personnel and law enforcement officers from across the state are attending the two day conference. It’s an opportunity to get information a number of topics that first responders have to deal with.

“We want to be able to take something, whether it’s new information, fresh ideas for our education programs or programs we go and take out into the schools, nursing homes, assisted living, for people of all ages in our communities to help them be safe from fire, all different kinds of subjects, water safety, bike safety.”

The conference wraps up Thursday afternoon. It is held in a different city each year.
