JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) — The battle between KiOR and the state is getting nastier as the troubled biofuel maker seeks to have a receiver take control of the idled Columbus plant.

Chief Financier Vinod Khosla wants the receiver to take control of the facility in order to keep the state from gaining possession of it.

The Mississippi Development Authority wants KiOR liquidated so it can recover some of the millions the state has invested in the project. Khosla counters the state’s stance as scaring off a potential buyer.

A hearing on the request to put the Columbus plant in receivership is set for January 27th in Lowndes County Chancery Court
