MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Monroe County man is in jail and two others are in the hospital after deputies say an argument turned ugly.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell tells WCBI deputies responded to a disturbance call on Guyton Road around 10:30 p.m., Friday.

He says 47-year old John Hand, Jr. of Amory shot two people, sending them to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The sheriff says Hand is currently in the Monroe County jail facing two counts of aggravated assault.

Bond has not yet been set.
