Oktibbeha Co. (WCBI) – State lawmakers pave the way for a section of highway to be named in honor of a late MSU president.

Senators passed an amended bill yesterday that would designate the portion of highway twenty five that intersects at the Oktibbeha County-Winston County line as “Dr. Donald Zacharias Memorial Highway.

The long serving president died almost a year ago of complications from multiple sclerosis.

Officer Keith Crenshaw of Eupora, who died last year in the line of duty, and educators Phyllis Graham and Steven Moss of Ackerman would also be honored with roadway designations.

The bill now goes back to the House for approval.
