Video: MUW’s Afternoon of Service
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi University for Women students, faculty and staff spent their day doing service for others.
The ‘Afternoon of Service” is the first of four days of activity in honor of Dr. Jim Borsig’s inaugural ceremony.
Wednesday (2/13) activity centered around volunteer work at local learning centers and non-profits.
At Coleman Headstart Center in Columbus students helped teachers with projects and at the Boys and Girls club of Columbus, students organize books for the kids to enjoy.
“College students need to get involved with the community to be a good influence and example to the elementary students here. They think a lot of our time and we try to inspire them to live up to their potential and to one day go to college as well, says Nikki Trammell, MUW student.
Dr. Borsig will be installed as the Mississippi University for Women’s 14th president Friday at 10 a.m.
