NANIH WAIYA, Miss. (WCBI) – One Winston County town is beginning to expand services for its residents. Nanih Waiya leaders broke ground today on a new community park.

The first phase of construction will be centered on a new community center, playground, and walking track. For many it’s about creating a positive environment for families – closer to home

“It’s going to be a good place to play for the kids. It’s going to be a safe place; a place that we needed. I mean, kids had to travel ten miles now to go to a decent playground, so we are going to have this right in the heart of our community.”

Phase One is expected to be finished in October. Most of the money is coming from private donations. If you would like to donate contact: Friends of Nanih Waiya Community Park – P.O. Box 83, Louisville, MS 39339
