MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY, Miss. (WCBI) – Fire investigators are investigating what caused a poultry house near the MSU Campus to burn Thursday night.

The building that burned was a Department of Agriculture poultry lab and did not belong to the University. Starkville firemen took about an hour to bring the fire under control and spent more time hitting hot spots left in the building.

USDA officials say they had actually just finished a research trial with poultry in the building Thursday and had removed the birds before the fire started.
