LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — One young man from Lowndes County came home to a big, big surprise.

Thanks to a number of sponsors and Rebecca’s Rooms, Peter Jones now has a new studio apartment space.

The volunteers turned an extra room off of a detached garage into a new space for Jones.

It’s MSU and New Hope themed and is a project completed by Rebecca’s Rooms, which remodels rooms for disabled children.

The family left their home Friday evening and returned nearly 24-hours later to see the finished project.

The family says there are no words to say how much they appreciate the transformation.

“How do you say ‘thank you’ for something so big like this? Words just seem so insufficient and that people dedicate their lives to helping other people, it’s just God’s grace,” said Peter’s mother, Norma Jones.

Peter says he loves every part of his new studio apartment space.

Dr. Ford and Rose Ford donated $1,500 to the project, which makes the second “RoomMate’s”
