COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The force is with hundreds of North Mississippi movie goers.

They came out to the Columbus Malco movie theater to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

The first showing wasn’t until 7 p.m., but hard core fans lined up Thursday afternoon to get a good seat.

Some showings sold out quickly, with fans buying tickets as early as two months ago.

They tell WCBI they hope the latest Star Wars movie will be worth the wait.

“Saw the first one when I was seven years old, 40 years ago,” said Lawrence Tyndall, a Star Wars fan. “I’m real excited about this after a really long wait.”

And, of course, some fans wore their Star Wars attire.

If you want to dress up in full costume, Malco theaters are banning masks, face paint, light sabers, and laser blasters for security reasons.
