Video: Starkville Police Make Drug Arrest Following Traffic Stop

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Starkville police arrest a Brooksville man on a slew of charges.

Officers arrested 29-year-old William Ward Smith following a routine traffic stop, Monday.

Investigators say Smith fled after he was asked for his driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Officers then pursued him. The chase ended on Highway 182 and Old 82 west of Starkville.

Smith was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance, paraphernalia, reckless driving, no seat belt, disorderly conduct, failure to stop, and false information.

He was also wanted in Lowndes and Noxubee Counties on outstanding felony warrants.
