Video: Two Mississippi Museums Make Progress

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Soon,Mississippi will not only have one new museum, but two.
The “2 Mississippi Museums” project is well underway in downtown Jackson.

The Tentative completion date is December 2017. The doors will open to the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum.

Now, the project is ‘going public,’ as the public is asked for financial support for the remaining $17 million dollars left to fund the project.

“This will be the first Civil Rights Museum built in the country with state support and will be a marvelous addition to the cultural tourism in our state. So, it’s going to be great,” said Haley Fisackerly, with “2 Mississippi Museums Steering Committee
The museums will open on the 200th anniversary of Mississippi.
