Video: “W” Hosts Walk A Mile in Her Shoes March

COLUMBUS, Miss. – (WCBI) The men of the Mississippi University for Women take a stand against sexual assault. The “W” held its annual Walk A Mile in Her Shoes Event.

Its an international men’s march where a high heeled, one mile lap around campus raises awareness about sexual assault, rape and violence against women.

In January 2014, The White House reported that one-in-five women are sexually assaulted in college. Participants say they are trying to lower that statistic.

“It is absolutely not tolerated. We are promoting a culture of speaking out and getting involved in that,” says Craig Watson, Counselor.

With help from several local organizations, The MUW Counseling Center organized the event.
