Video: Woman Injured in Columbus Apartment Fire

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A Columbus woman is recovering from burns in an overnight apartment fire.

The fire happened at 601 5th Avenue North.

Columbus Fire and Rescue says the woman fell asleep on the couch smoking a cigarette.

Firemen and police officers broke down a door to rescue the lady.

Only one apartment was damaged.

The woman was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle with burns on her hands.
