(Jackson) – The Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman will resume visitation this weekend for all, except parts of Unit 29.
The prison has been on lockdown since June 11, when a homicide occurred in Unit 29. The following day a fight occurred between inmates, and visitation was canceled.
Regular visitations have now resumed for minimum, medium and death row inmates.
Visitation will be allowed in the following units:
 
Units 25, 26, 28, 29C, D, E, F & J Buildings; and Units 30, 31, & 42.
There will be no visitation in Unit 29B, G, H, I, K & L Buildings.

    The people at Parchman really have their hands full. My cousin Bill Harpole was Superintendant years ago, and it has really changed
