Water Valley, Winona Looking to Implement Free WiFi Service for Downtown Area

WATER VALLEY, Miss. (WCBI) — Visitors to several area towns are one step closer to having free wireless Internet service for their downtown visitors.

Water Valley and Winona are awarding contracts for equipment installation.

Water Valley’s service could be in place by the end of this month. Cytec Software Systems of Jackson was awarded the $8,200 contract.

Grants from the Appalachian Regional Commission are paying for the service, which city leaders hope will attract economic development to their downtowns.

Aberdeen also is seeking the service.
