WEST POINT, Miss. (WCBI) –  Two West Point buildings will be getting some much needed cleanup thanks to a federal grant.

The Environmental Protection Agency is sending two separate 200 thousand dollar grants to the area. The moneys are used to clean up buildings that have some type of contamination , Once that’s done communities can put them back in service or use them for development.  The former West Side school is getting 200 K of the money.  The second 200 thousand dollars is going to Community Counseling Services to help retire the former Mary Holmes Administration building.  CCS has used many of the campus buildings for its services but the cost of restoring the administration building would have run into the millions.  The plan is to take the building down and replace it with a green space but a retirement ceremony and celebration will take place before the building goes.
