Downtown Starkville alight with festive cheer for annual Christmas parade

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The sights and sounds of the season flooded the streets of downtown Starkville.

The city’s annual Christmas parade featured festive floats, marching bands, dance troupes, school organizations, holiday characters, and more. In all, there were nearly 100 entries including the star of the show: Santa Claus.

The theme this year was “All is Bright.”

Starkville Vice Mayor Roy Á. Perkins was honored as this year’s grand marshal. He has served on the Starkville for more than 30 years.

WCBI’s Aundrea Self and the First Alert team members, Isaac Williams, Ashleigh Bryant, McKinley Dean, Owen Basselman, and Dylan Hudler, were at the parade to help spread that holiday cheer.
