STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-The Starkville-Mississippi State University Symphony Association sponsored a series of concerts for children today.

School children, kindergarten through fifth grade were enlightened by renditions of famous Mississippi musicians and music reflective of the state’s history this afternoon at the First Baptist Church.

Songs by Elvis, Jimmie Rodgers, and others were all played.

The 60-piece Starkville Symphony Orchestra will also perform a full concert tonight at 7:30 in the churches main sanctuary.

The event is free and open to the public.
